GETTING STARTED - Mac USB Drive Installation

Follow this set of instructions to install Trilian from your USB installation drive on to your Mac system.

Note: You need over 40GB of free space available on your hard drive in order to install the instrument.

Trilian Installation

Step 1: Connect the Trilian installation drive into a USB port. Open the drive 'Spectrasonics Trilian.'

Step 2: Double-click the file 'Trilian Installation.url.

Step 3: Log in to your Spectrasonics user account and select the 'DOWNLOAD' button to download the current installer to your Mac.

Step 4: From your Mac's Downloads folder open the 'Trilian_Installation' folder, then open the 'Mac' folder.

Step 5: Double-click 'Trilian Installer.pkg' to begin the installation of Trilian.

Step 6: The installer might need to quit and reopen to ensure support for older versions of OS X, so just click 'OK.'

Step 7: Follow the steps as you're guided through the installation process.

Step 8: The plugin files will then be installed on your Mac's system drive.

Step 9: Then at the Preparation step, you'll select where to install the large core library files. By default they will be installed to your system drive or you may choose a secondary drive by selecting the button 'Choose Location.'

Step 10: The large data files will now be copied to your selected drive. Allow for 30-60 minutes to install all of the data.

Step 11: After the installation is complete select 'Close.' Now it's time to open Trilian in your host and authorize it.

We’re releasing a minor new Trillian for Mac update today for beta testers. Once everything looks good we’ll submit this to the App Store for everyone else, so please let us know if you find any glaring issues! The bulk of the work in 1.6 will be invisible to users, but we’ve now got a fair portion of the work required to support group chats done. Visible changes in 1.6 include better support for sending images, metacontact windows, the ability to tweak or disable auto away, and the utilization of your address book pictures in the chat window as well as the contact list.
